COURSE DESCRIPTION

The art of cosmetic dentistry consists of many parameters to achieve clinical excellence, and it all begins with the face. This course starts with simple systems for smile design and facial diagnosis. We will then highlight the importance of photography: the digital camera, the required photos, and how those images become the foundation of communication with your laboratory. Your ceramist can only build what they can see, so we will cover exactly what information the lab needs to deliver an ideal esthetic and functional result.

From there, we will focus on risk assessment as it relates to preparation design. Too often, we see the unnecessary removal of enamel, but at what expense to the patient and their teeth? We will discover how opening vertical dimension creates the space we need, allowing for minimally invasive preparations that protect the natural dentition. We will show the APT technique, preparing through the mock-up so that we remove only what the final restoration requires. We will walk through proper preparation sequence and the absolute isolation required when delivering your porcelain art. Finally, we will bring it all together with a full mouth rehabilitation, start to finish, from facial diagnosis to the final result.
